Workforce Special Interest Group


Our primary goal is to develop a guide for organizational leaders to implement AI effectively, focusing on workforce implications. This playbook will be useful for organizations of any size, from single-person agencies to large enterprises.

The guide will include the following sections:

  1. Structure and Leadership: Outline approaches for AI leadership in organizations of varying sizes. Define dedicated positions or committee-led initiatives. Establish authority and control mechanisms.
  2. Risk Management: Provide frameworks for identifying, assessing, and mitigating AI-related risks. Cover technical and organizational considerations. Address data security and workforce impact assessment.
  3. Policy Operationalization: Address policy distribution and explanation across organizations in the context of workforce development.
  4. Training Program Development: Provide guidance on organizational training needs across all levels. Include frameworks for identifying required skills and creating development pathways.
  5. AI Readiness Assessment: Develop practical tools to evaluate organizational readiness for AI implementation. Include data readiness evaluation and gap analysis approaches.
  6. Tools and Technology Assessment: Develop frameworks for evaluating AI tools. Consider technical capabilities, organizational fit, and integration requirements.
  7. ROI Identification: Provide methods for identifying benefits and calculating ROI. Include templates for benefit tracking.
  8. Integration and Change Management: Address organizational change aspects of AI implementation. Develop approaches for stakeholder engagement and resistance management.
  9. Forward Planning: Provide frameworks for monitoring trends and assessing future impacts. Guide organizations in preparing for ongoing technological change.
  10. Distribution and Engagement: Develop strategies for publicizing and distributing the playbook. Explore open-access platforms and partnerships with industry associations.
