Redtail AI Factory: Call for Challenge Projects
One-U RAI invites Utah System of Higher Education researchers and educators to propose projects that leverage the new Redtail AI factory supercomputer for high-impact research and education. Selected projects will receive specialized access to high-performance AI infrastructure, dedicated support from AI engineers, and technical facilitation to achieve critical near-term milestones within a six-month duration.

Faculty Fellowships
One-U RAI will name faculty fellows representing some of the U’s top talent in responsible AI from across disciplines. The fellows will receive an annual stipend for three years to pursue responsible AI research tied to one or more of One-U RAI's thematic areas.

One-U RAI is pursuing multiple new faculty hires from 2025-2030, expanding core research expertise in responsible and translational AI within three thematic areas. Ideal candidates have research expertise that integrates social and technical aspects and will establish new partnerships across the university and beyond.

Postdoctoral Fellowships
One-U RAI will award postdoctoral fellow projects that are aligned with the One-U RAI goals and thematic areas. Postdoctoral fellows will be supported by two faculty mentors with domain and technical AI expertise. Awardees will receive an annual salary of $80,000 for two years, plus benefits.

Seed Grants
One-U RAI will award a total of $225,000 annually to advance the goals of One-U RAI through new collaborations, innovative research, and mission-driven activities to address pressing challenges in our three thematic areas.

Graduate Student Fellowships
One-U RAI will support three to five PhD students for up to three years each. Fellows will receive an annual stipend $5,000 above department average; health, dental, and vision insurance; up to $2,000 annually for professional development; and funding for up to three years (tuition not included).
