One‑U RAI Launches Expanded Visiting Fellowships, Replacing Distinguished Visitors Program

The One-U Responsible Artificial Intelligence Initiative's former Distinguished Visitors Program is now the Visiting Fellows Program: it welcomes a wider range of participants—from rising stars to prominent leaders—and invites applications on a rolling basis rather than quarterly.
In addition to broadening pathways to participation, the updated program formalizes the role of a University of Utah faculty host and allows a host to submit an application on a prospective fellow’s behalf.
“We're excited to expand this program,” said Penny Atkins, the director of research and science at the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute, which runs One-U RAI. “Renaming and reshaping it allows us to welcome a richer mix of perspectives, including emerging leaders who will bring fresh energy and bold ideas to the University of Utah.”
